The appropriately registered Airbus A380 F-WWOW made its maiden flight on 27 April 2005 at Toulouse in southern France. Sam Chui was there to photograph this historic event and the painting is based on a shot he took as the aircraft made a low-level flypast at the end of the momentous flight.
