The first image on this page serves to mark the demise of Concorde services and the end, at least for the present, of supersonic commercial passenger flight.

The second picture commemorates what is already only a memory: The famous checkerboard approach to Hong Kong's now closed Kai Tak airport.

This is the artist's advantage over the photographer: We are able to revisit and recapture moments from the past whether based on an existing photographic record as with the Kai Tak picture or as a totally reconstructed artwork as in the case of the Pan Am in-flight painting seen elsewhere on this site.
