25 December 2007 marked the 75th Anniversary of government operated motor buses in New South Wales. Following his painting of a contemporary Sydney bus in 2006, Steve was requested to paint the scene depicting the departure of that first bus on that far off day. The painting went on to feature as the cover illustration to the November/December 2007 edition of Australian Bus magazine.

Steve assisted the Sydney Bus Museum with a display of his artwork on their stand at the State Transit Authority's 75th Anniversary celebrations at Luna Park, Sydney on 2 December 2007. The resulting co-operation with the Sydney Bus Museum will lead to a the creation of a number of paintings of historic and up-to-date bus scenes over future months.

Prints and cards based on these paintings are now available from the Sydney Bus Museum at Tempe either through their "Bus Shop" or by mail order.
